Preparations for my first art fair

This week I am busy preparing my artwork and display for my first art fair, which will be at Amazon Cafe off of Jodeco Rd. (in McDonough) on Saturday, October 23 from 10-5. Here is my booth sign I just finished:

Nursery Decor Illustrations

I've really enjoyed illustrating very simplistically the past couple of weeks. It is a big change from detailed, more realistic painting. Here is another colored pencil on type page. I really need to get a more appropriate, kid-friendly page for a background. Oh well, just practicing...

(I didn't read this book, just rescued it from the trash when the library was throwing it away. It's funny to think about what can be done with "junk.")

I've been working on sewing since my aunt gave me some really cute Snoopy fabric the other day. Here is one of the box pouches I finished today in a soft Barrel of Monkeys fabric.

Children's Book Illustrations

I went to a Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators portfolio conference over the weekend. Here are some illustrations from my new portfolio. I had some problems with the print versions because the artwork was dark. I tried to lighten them, but they look somewhat washed out. I am going to keep working on the best methods of coloring my characters.
